Yuga Labs Sells CryptoPunks to Nonprofit Infinite Node Foundation in Strategic Shift

Yuga Labs, once a dominant force in the NFT space, continues its divestment strategy with the sale of CryptoPunks to the newly formed Infinite Node Foundation. The transaction, valued at approximately $20 million, marks a pivotal shift toward decentralized community ownership for the iconic NFT collection.

The Infinite Node Foundation launched last month with $25 million in funding, positioning itself as a steward for CryptoPunks’ future. "This transition isn’t about ownership, but liberation," stated a representative, emphasizing the MOVE away from corporate structures toward community-driven development.

The sale follows Yuga Labs’ earlier divestments of Meebits, Legends of the Mara, and HV-MTL collections. Originally acquired from Larva Labs in 2022, CryptoPunks now enters its third chapter under nonprofit stewardship.
